"After spending around 6 years in software development and independent verification and validation of mission critical projects, I decided to take a full plunge in process and quality assurance domain and joined Aricent (then Hughes Software Systems) as an Asst. Manager in 1997 as the first employee of QA group and since then, there has been no turning back !! Today, as the head of the QA group with more than 60 people spread across the globle, I can say with confidence that the group has come a long in ensuring Aricent's processes as one of the best in the industry. The group is involved with defining processes complying to various international standards like CMMI, ISO 9001:2000, TL9000, etc and ensuring compliance to the same. As a company, Aricent is very dedicated to quality and the top management demonstrates its commitment to quality.
We have one of the best mentorship programs which helps the new employees ramp up quite fast and effectively.
Over the years, Aricent has also been involved in helping our customers to achieve higher levels of process maturity and this has given the team to interact with customers and travel abroad for short term and long term assignments. With Aricent operating in various countries now, even the internal process consulting and integration of the new centers to rest of Aricent has thrown up opportunities for the team in getting international exposure.

Aricent is a happening place for me. It has been so for me for the last 8 years that I have been a part of it even though we were named differently earlier. The foundation is strong with our value systems and a high energy work culture well entrenched there. We can be proud of our success in areas of communication software and the world respects us for that. Our customer base (literally a "who is who") stands testimony for that. The people related initiatives and processes have benefited me and I know for sure many of my team members and colleagues over the years. To top this up, Aricent is a Fun place. We have something or the other for all. Fitness freaks have a gym, the Next Gen folks have Salsa sessions and other such events, sports lovers have a club of their own, artists of different hues have their own share of events and so on. Over the last 2 or 3 years I have realized, much to my delight, that I have become Global. Interacting with colleagues and friends in Ukraine, China , Mexico , US, UK, Germany, Japan and couple of other regions have been a tremendous learning of cultures, work ethics and of course business. Aricent is rocking for me!

Looking back at the 8+ years spent at Aricent, I feel as if it was just yesterday that I joined and often repent not having left my previous job earlier and joined here. At Aricent you inherit a great culture of openness, knowledge sharing, competition and cooperation hand in hand; hard work and challenges and fun and enjoyment again going hand in hand. Each moment spent here is of great learning, you learn new technologies, you get to learn newer aspects of project, people and customer management; and you learn the old paradigm of survival of the fittest" all over again. One is given opportunities to learn by several technical/non-technical class-room trainings; by on the job live project trainings; by emulating the several role models around and last but not the least by providing you autonomy to experiment and learn.

It has been a great experience working at Aricent for past TEN plus years and I have truly enjoyed and cherished every moment.
